Easter is celebrated with solemnity and pomp in Mykonos and thousands of tourists choose it as a destination. During the Ηoly Week they make lamprokouloures at home and at the bakeries and they decorate them with traditional red eggs, which they offer on the table on Holy Saturday. On Holy Thursday and Good Friday ovens give bread the shape of the cross and they symbolically cut it by hand instead of a knife because of the special day. During Good Friday evening there is a procession of the Epitaph, where all churches of the island end up together in Yialos old port.
